Xbox Game Pass is enhancing its rewards program with the introduction of Quests for PC users, launching January 7th. This update brings daily, weekly, and monthly quest opportunities to earn points, including the return of weekly streaks. However, access to these new features is restricted to players aged 18 and older, aligning with Microsoft's focus on age-appropriate gaming experiences.
The expansion of Quests to PC Game Pass users complements existing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate offerings. Players 18 and over with either subscription tier can access the Xbox Quests and Rewards Hub through their profile. Earning points requires a minimum playtime of 15 minutes per game, and participation is limited to titles within the Game Pass catalog (excluding those using third-party launchers).
Key Changes to Game Pass Quests and Rewards:
- PC Game Pass Quest Availability: Quests are now available for PC Game Pass members starting January 7th.
- New Quest Types:
- Daily Play: Earn 10 points daily by playing any Game Pass title for at least 15 minutes.
- Weekly Streaks: Play for at least five days a week to earn points, with multipliers increasing for consecutive weeks (2x for two weeks, 3x for three, and 4x for four or more).
- Monthly 4-Pack & 8-Pack: Explore the catalog by playing four or eight different games (15 minutes each) monthly. The 4-Pack games count towards the 8-Pack.
- PC Weekly Bonus: Earn 150 points for playing at least 15 minutes for five or more days a week.
The revamped system simplifies reward earning with consistent daily, weekly, and monthly opportunities. The return of weekly streaks allows for point multiplication based on consistent gameplay. Microsoft emphasizes its commitment to age-appropriate content, explicitly excluding players under 18 from accessing these new rewards. Younger players can only earn rewards through parental purchases of eligible items from the Microsoft Store.
