A free demo for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth's spin-off, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, launches today! Available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam), the demo unlocks at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern / 3pm UK. While the full game releases February 21st, also on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, these platforms won't receive the demo.
RGG Studio's X/Twitter announcement doesn't confirm demo progress carrying over to the full game. The demo offers early access to freeroam areas and battles in Honolulu and Madlantis, deviating from the main storyline.
Key demo features include:
- Exploration of Honolulu and Madlantis (areas typically unavailable early in the full game).
- Access to "Mad Dog" and "Sea Dog" fighting styles.
- Battles against challenging bounty enemies.
- Four ship and deck battles in the Pirates' Coliseum.
- New customization options.
- Karaoke featuring three songs.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, a sequel to Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (the eighth mainline entry, or ninth including Yakuza 0), stars Goro Majima as an amnesiac pirate adventuring in Hawaii. An October Xbox Partner Showcase trailer highlighted ship combat reminiscent of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, and the return of Taiga Saejima hints at deeper connections to the main series.
Expect a longer playtime than Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, with an estimated 15-18 hour story. Fans can unlock a Kiryu Kazuma costume by subscribing to email notifications or a Sega rewards program.
