GungHo Entertainment, creators of the crossover card battler Teppen, is developing a retro-style RPG in collaboration with Disney. This exciting new title, Disney Pixel RPG, promises a pixel-art adventure featuring a vast roster of beloved Disney characters.
Expected to launch later this year, Disney Pixel RPG will allow players to recruit and battle with iconic Disney figures across multiple worlds. The gameplay blends battle, action, and rhythm challenges.
Players can create and customize their own unique character to fight alongside their favorite Disney heroes. The game incorporates auto-battling mechanics with opportunities for direct player control during key moments. The storyline centers around battling mysterious programs that have infiltrated the pixelated Disney worlds.
A Retro Revival
This isn't GungHo's first foray into large-franchise crossover games. However, given Disney's extensive library of films and franchises, this collaboration offers an unparalleled pool of characters. GungHo's experience managing large casts makes them ideally suited for this project.
