Destiny 2 Reveals Horror Themed Armor Sets for Festival of the Lost 2025

Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost 2025: A Horror-Themed Vote and Community Concerns

Destiny 2 players will soon choose between two new armor sets for the upcoming Festival of the Lost event: Slashers and Spectres. Inspired by classic horror icons, the sets feature designs referencing Jason Voorhees, Ghostface, the Babadook, La Llorona, and even Slenderman. This Halloween event allows fans to directly influence the in-game cosmetic options.

While the announcement of these exciting new armor sets generated buzz, it's been overshadowed by ongoing concerns within the Destiny 2 community. Episode Revenant, the current season, has been plagued by a significant number of bugs and glitches, including broken tonics that failed to provide intended buffs. These issues, coupled with reported drops in player engagement and overall player numbers, have led to considerable player frustration.

Bungie's early 2025 blog post unveiling the Festival of the Lost armor sets, while exciting, also highlighted this disconnect. The focus on an event ten months away surprised some players, who felt the studio should have addressed the current state of the game and the prevalent issues impacting their experience. The lack of direct acknowledgement of these problems further fueled community discontent.

The "Slashers" set includes Titan and Hunter armor clearly inspired by Jason (Friday the 13th) and Ghostface (Scream), respectively, alongside a Scarecrow-themed Warlock set. The "Spectres" set offers a Babadook-inspired Titan armor, La Llorona for Hunters, and, notably, an official Slenderman set for Warlocks. Despite the creative designs, the timing of the announcement and the ongoing issues with the game continue to be a source of discussion among players.
