Combat is central to *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, and having the right weapons can make all the difference. After the prologue, Henry is left with nothing, but you can quickly arm yourself with the Dogwood Village Bow, which you can obtain early and for free.

After parting ways with Hans, your next goal is to find a way into the wedding. You can choose to work as a blacksmith or a miller to earn your invitation. Even if you're not interested in the blacksmith job, the map marker will guide you close to where you can pick up the Dogwood Village Bow. If you decide to take the blacksmith job to attend Semine's wedding, you'll also want to learn how to get the hermit's sword later on.

The blacksmith job is located in Tachov, north of Troskowitz, where the prologue ends and the game world opens up. To find the bow, follow the road west out of Troskowitz, then continue as it curves north. At a point where the main road splits and a smaller road leads west, turn right towards a cluster of trees. This area might be easy to miss as it blends in with the surroundings, but within these trees lies a small training area.

In this cluster, you'll find a target with arrows stuck in it. Approach the target to collect the arrows for free ammo, then look to the right side of the tree where the Dogwood Village Bow is leaning against the trunk. You can also grab some brew from a nearby stump and pick mushrooms in the area. Once you've gathered what you need, you can continue with your current quest.

Other Ways to Get the Dogwood Village Bow in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Alternatively, you can buy the Dogwood Village Bow, though it's not the most powerful ranged weapon available. It's available for purchase from Huntsman's Son Vitek in Tachov, but considering the proximity to the free version, it's not worth the cost. Instead, focus on getting the free bow if you're without ranged options. Vitek also sells better weapons, and you can use alchemy to earn money by collecting herbs and brewing potions to sell.

Whether you opt for the free bow or aim to purchase a different weapon, having a ranged combat option is invaluable, especially since you can't change the difficulty level. Combat in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* retains much of the feel of the first game, and melee combat isn't for everyone. As someone who prefers ranged combat, I find it essential in navigating the game's challenges.

If you choose to proceed to Tachov to work as a blacksmith, you can sleep and save after demonstrating your sword-forging skills. Alternatively, you can head to the miller to continue the main quest. With a ranged weapon in hand, combat in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* becomes much more manageable.

And that's how you can get the free Dogwood Village Bow early in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.
