Bug Out Event Returns with Sizzlipede Debut in Pokémon Go

by Dylan Apr 11,2025

Get ready, Pokémon trainers! The Bug Out event is making its triumphant return to Pokémon Go, running from March 26th to 30th. This event is your chance to dive into a world filled with Bug-type Pokémon, including the exciting debut of Sizzlipede and its evolution, Centiskorch. Expect a packed schedule of wild encounters, thrilling raids, rewarding bonuses, and engaging new challenges that will keep you on your toes.

Lure Modules will be crucial during the Bug Out event. Not only will they attract Sizzlipede to your location, but if you and other trainers catch enough Pokémon at a single PokéStop using one Lure Module, you'll see an increase in the number of Pokémon appearing there. It's a fantastic way to maximize your catches.

You'll also have the opportunity to earn double XP and extra Candy for Nice Throws or better, with increased chances of earning Candy XL for trainers level 31 and above. If you're on the hunt for Shiny Pokémon, you'll be pleased to know that the odds of finding Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede are higher during this event.

The wild will be teeming with Bug-type Pokémon, with frequent appearances from favorites like Caterpie, Weedle, Wurmple, Nincada, Venipede, Dwebble, Joltik, Grubbin, Dewpider, and Nymble. Keep your eyes peeled for the rare Cutiefly, which might just make an appearance if luck is on your side.

Sizzlipede will be the star of one-star raids, joined by Scyther and Nincada. Meanwhile, three-star raids will feature powerful Bug-types like Beedrill, Scizor, and Kleavor. Completing event-themed Field Research tasks will reward you with Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with event Pokémon, making your efforts even more fruitful.

Don't miss out on the free Timed Research opportunity, which includes encounters with Shedinja, Sizzlipede, Kleavor, and more, along with a handy Lure Module. For those looking for additional rewards, a Paid Timed Research option is available for $2 (or the local equivalent), offering encounters with Heracross, Sizzlipede, and Kleavor, plus two Premium Battle Passes and an extra Lure Module.

Engage with the new Collection Challenges to earn Stardust, XP, and Pokémon encounters, and participate in PokéStop Showcases to highlight your event-themed Pokémon. And don't forget to check out the in-game shop for new Sizzlipede Boots and a Scolipede Jacket to add to your collection.
