If you're a Pokémon GO enthusiast, get ready for some exciting events on the horizon. The game is already buzzing with the Festival of Colors and the Might and Mastery event, and now the Catch Mastery event is joining the fray as a part of the Might and Mastery festivities.
Catch Mastery Brings the First Birdie for Pokémon GO!
Mark your calendars for March 16th, as the Catch Mastery event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time. This event is all about Archen, the First Bird Pokémon. During the event, you'll encounter wild spawns of Omanyte and Kabuto, with the exciting possibility of finding their Shiny versions.
Archen will also be available as a Field Research reward, and you'll have an increased chance of encountering its Shiny form. The event doesn't stop there; you'll earn double XP for Nice Throws or better, and also for Curveball Throws, giving you a great opportunity to level up quickly.
For those who love a challenge, the event includes Timed Research focused on catching Rock-types. Completing up to 10 sets of tasks will reward you with a total of 40 Archen encounters, making it a fantastic chance to bolster your Pokémon collection.
The Mega Absol Raid Day Is also Happening Soon
Following the Catch Mastery event, the Mega Absol Raid Day is set for March 23rd, running from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Absol will gain a new Charged Attack called Brutal Swing. Once the event kicks off, Absol will permanently have access to this move, which delivers 55 power in Trainer Battles and 65 power in gyms and raids.
To enhance your raiding experience, from March 22nd at 5:00 p.m. PDT to March 23rd at 8:00 p.m. PDT, the Remote Raid Pass limit will be temporarily increased to 20. You can also snag up to five additional free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs, bringing your daily total to six.
