Baldur's Gate III's eighth and potentially final major patch is undergoing its official stress test. While some Sony console players received early access, developers advise a game reinstall for those skipping the test.
Patch 8 introduces highly anticipated cross-platform play between PC and consoles, enabled through linked Larian accounts. Remarkably, modded gameplay is also supported cross-platform, provided all mods are available across Mac, PC, and consoles, and the host's mod count remains below ten.
Multiplayer enhancements include the addition of split-screen co-op on Xbox Series S, a feature previously unavailable on this console.
Further additions in Patch 8 are a fully customizable photo mode and twelve new subclasses, adding significant depth and replayability. Bug fixes and balance adjustments are also included, although some issues persist. A comprehensive changelog is available on the game's official website.
