Before Starting Your Sensor
Before initiating your Sensor, decide whether you want to use your smartphone or the FreeStyle Libre 2 Reader for receiving alarms and glucose readings. Note that you can only use one device at a time for these functions. To use your phone, start the Sensor with the FreeStyle Libre 2 app. To use the Reader, start the Sensor with the Reader itself.
Keep in mind that the app and Reader do not share data. To ensure comprehensive data on a device, scan your Sensor every 8 hours with that device. You can also upload and view data from all your devices on LibreView.com.

If you're using the app, remember you must also have access to a blood glucose monitoring system, as the app does not provide one. Finger pricks may be required if glucose readings and alarms do not match symptoms or expectations.
