Mattel163 enhances inclusivity in its mobile card games with the Beyond Colors update. This update introduces colorblind-friendly decks to Phase 10: World Tour, Uno! Mobile, and Skip-Bo Mobile. Instead of relying on traditional colors, the new decks use simple shapes – squares, triangles, circles, and stars – to clearly represent each card's color.
This initiative aims to make these popular games accessible to the approximately 300 million people worldwide affected by colorblindness (source: Cleveland Clinic). The developer collaborated with colorblind gamers to create these intuitive, consistent symbols across all three titles.
Enabling the Beyond Colors deck is simple: access your in-game account settings via your avatar and select the new card theme. Mattel163 has committed to making 80% of its game portfolio colorblind-accessible by 2025.
For those unfamiliar, Uno! Mobile is the classic card-matching game; Phase 10: World Tour is a fast-paced phase-completion game; and Skip-Bo Mobile offers a unique solitaire-style challenge. All three games are available on the App Store and Google Play. Visit Mattel163's website or Facebook page for more information.
