The Peak Hunters application boasts an ever-expanding database of peaks, starting with the Czech Republic and extending to neighboring countries. Leveraging the GPS capabilities of your mobile phone, you can document your ascent to the summit and earn a point rating that reflects both the mountain's altitude and the ascent's difficulty. You have the freedom to add your personal ratings and photos to each peak you conquer. The app presents all peaks clearly on the map, and you can filter them by country, mountain range, or proximity to your current location. For those times when you're in remote areas with weak signals, you can download offline map data. These maps, sourced from OpenStreetMap, also feature tourist routes. If you spot a peak missing from the database or plan to visit a hill not yet included, you can add it by long-pressing on the map. Once approved, the peak becomes visible to all users, and you'll receive bonus points for your contribution. Peak Hunters also offers an expanding suite of statistics and collectible badges. Your collected badges stay with you, and for rare badges, you'll receive special congratulations. For each peak, you can check the current weather forecast, aiding in trip planning with up to 48-hour advance views. Another standout feature is the ability to identify mountain peaks by simply pointing your phone at them, with the correct distance filter in place. You can use the app in completely anonymous mode; in incognito mode, the app functions identically, but you won't be able to transfer your profile to other devices, log out, or recover your profile if your device is lost or data is damaged. We recommend trying the app in incognito mode before transitioning to a registered profile. The application is free from advertisements and fees, born from the passion of a hiker seeking a way to track peak ascents with offline map capabilities. You can now manually switch between dark and light modes, a setting you can adjust on your user profile screen. There is no accompanying website; the application is fully functional on its own, requiring no external site.
