Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced
Microsoft has revealed the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct: January 23rd, 2025. This marks the third annual event, kicking off the year's Xbox game announcements. The first Developer Direct events were held in January 2023 and 2024, establishing this as a key early-year showcase.
The 2025 event is scheduled for 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT and will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch. This announcement follows earlier rumors suggesting a January 9th reveal.
Confirmed Games for Xbox Developer Direct 2025:
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, targeting a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
- Doom: The Dark Ages: id Software's latest entry in the Doom franchise, initially announced in June 2024 and previewed at QuakeCon 2024. A mid-2025 launch is currently speculated.
- South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (creators of Contrast and We Happy Few), first unveiled in June 2023. A release date is expected.
While these three titles are confirmed, previous Developer Directs have lasted over 40 minutes and featured multiple games. The 2024 event showcased titles like Avowed, Ara: History Untold, and Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, hinting at the possibility of further unannounced surprises in the 2025 showcase.
