SoMoGa Inc. has released a modernized version of Vay for Android, iOS, and Steam. Vay, a classic 16-bit RPG, returns with enhanced graphics, a redesigned interface, and controller support.
Originally released in Japan in 1993 for the Sega CD (developed by Hertz and localized by Working Designs), Vay received an iOS re-release by SoMoGa in 2008. This new version builds upon that legacy.
What's New in the Revamped Vay?
The updated Vay boasts over 100 enemies, a dozen challenging bosses, and 90 diverse areas to explore. A welcome addition is the adjustable difficulty settings, catering to various player skill levels. Auto-saving is included for convenience, along with Bluetooth controller compatibility. Players can acquire new equipment and items, and characters gain new spells as they level up. An AI system allows for autonomous character combat.
The Story:
Set in a distant galaxy, the game unfolds millennia after a devastating interstellar war. A massive, malfunctioning war machine crashes onto the technologically underdeveloped planet Vay, causing widespread destruction.
Players undertake a quest to rescue their abducted wife and potentially save the world. The peaceful kingdom is attacked on the wedding day, and the bride is kidnapped, prompting an epic journey to confront the destructive war machines.
Vay's narrative is captivating, blending classic JRPG elements with modern enhancements. Characters gain experience and gold through random encounters, maintaining the series' roots. The game features nearly ten minutes of animated cutscenes with English and Japanese audio options.
Vay's revamped edition is available now on the Google Play Store for $5.99. Don't miss this premium RPG experience! See our other news for more gaming updates.
