To begin, you must progress through Kanya's fishing questline. This involves completing several side quests, each requiring specific items:
Seeking the Goldenfish: Catch a Goldenfish, found in cave pools. Area 6 of the Scarlet Forest is a good starting point; use Golden Bughead or Common Wood Minnow bait. Fallow weather conditions increase spawning chances.
Fishing for Favor: Next, catch a Gravid Bowfin in the Scarlet Forest base camp during "Plenty" weather. Use the Emerald Jitterbait.
The Catch of a Lifetime!: Catch any large fish triggering the reeling minigame. Tuna in Area 17 of the Scarlet Forest is a reliable option.
