Ubisoft's latest venture into the NFT gaming space, Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E., has been quietly released. This top-down multiplayer arcade shooter, as reported by Eurogamer on December 20th, requires players to purchase an NFT to participate.
Expanding the universe of the Netflix series, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, this game incorporates elements from popular Ubisoft franchises like Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed. The game's competitive multiplayer mode is limited to 10,000 players, each requiring a unique Citizen ID Card. These cards, purchased as NFTs, track player performance and achievements, evolving based on in-game progress.
Acquiring a Citizen ID Card necessitates a crypto wallet and the purchase of an NFT Niji Warrior ID card from Ubisoft's dedicated claim page for $25.63. Players can later choose to relinquish their citizenship and resell their IDs, potentially increasing their value based on in-game accomplishments.
According to Ubisoft's Magic Eden page, the full game launch is slated for Q1 2025, with early access granted to those who secured IDs early.

Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, the Netflix series, serves as an animated spin-off of Far Cry 3's Blood Dragon expansion. Set in an alternate 1992 where the U.S. is a technocracy named Eden, the series follows Dolph Laserhawk, a supersoldier who defects, engages in heists, and ultimately finds himself re-captured and forced to work against his former partner.
