System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition Renamed System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, Also Coming to Nintendo Switch

Nightdive Studios has announced a name change and new platform for the upcoming System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition. Now titled System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, this modernized version of the 1999 sci-fi horror RPG will launch on Nintendo Switch, in addition to its previously announced platforms.

System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will soon be available on Windows PC (via Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

The official synopsis reads:

The year is 2114. Awakening from cryo-sleep aboard the FTL ship Von Braun, you find yourself suffering from amnesia, amidst a horrifying catastrophe. Hybrid mutants and lethal robots stalk the ship's corridors, their chilling cries echoing through the vessel. SHODAN, a rogue AI hellbent on humanity's annihilation, has seized control. The fate of mankind rests on your shoulders. Explore the derelict Von Braun, deck by deck, uncovering the terrifying fate of its crew and immersing yourself in a richly detailed, atmospheric world. Unravel the mystery and confront SHODAN.

Nightdive Studios will reveal the official release date, along with a new trailer, during the Future Game Show Spring Showcase livestream on March 20, 2025.
