Nightdive Studios has announced a name change and new platform for the upcoming System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition. Now titled System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, this modernized version of the 1999 sci-fi horror RPG will launch on Nintendo Switch, in addition to its previously announced platforms.
System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will soon be available on Windows PC (via Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
The official synopsis reads:
The year is 2114. Awakening from cryo-sleep aboard the FTL ship Von Braun, you find yourself suffering from amnesia, amidst a horrifying catastrophe. Hybrid mutants and lethal robots stalk the ship's corridors, their chilling cries echoing through the vessel. SHODAN, a rogue AI hellbent on humanity's annihilation, has seized control. Nightdive Studios will reveal the official release date, along with a new trailer, during the Future Game Show Spring Showcase livestream on March 20, 2025.
