This cryptic message likely alluded to the anticipated Switch 2 reveal the following day. Naturally, fans immediately began wondering about Silksong's release. Pellen's subsequent actions only intensified the speculation.
On the day of the Switch 2 announcement, January 16, 2025, which also revealed an upcoming Nintendo Direct on April 2, 2025, Pellen changed his Twitter profile picture to a slice of cake. A reverse image search revealed that the image was from a Bon Appetit article about the Brooklyn Blackout Cake, published on April 2, 2024.
