Best Redwing Decks in Marvel Snap

Marvel Snap's roster of animal companions has been rather limited, with only a handful like Cosmo, Groose, Zabu, and Hit Monkey. However, the Brave New World season introduces a new feathered friend: Redwing, Falcon's pet.

Redwing's Mechanics in Marvel Snap

Redwing is a 3-cost, 4-power card with a unique ability: The first time it moves, a card is added from your hand to its original location. This ability has limitations: it's a one-time effect, unaffected by cards like Symbiote Spider-Man that might attempt to reuse it. Precise card targeting with Redwing proves challenging. Move decks often utilize low-cost cards (like Iron Fist) that aren't ideal targets, while Scream decks typically manipulate opponent's cards rather than their own.

Despite these limitations, inexpensive move cards like Madame Web or Cloak (accessible to lower Collection Level players) can effectively utilize Redwing. Its potential for surprising victories lies in strategically deploying high-power cards like Galactus early or drawing powerful cards like The Infinaut.

Optimal Redwing Decks in Marvel Snap

Ares and Surtur-centric decks, popular in previous seasons, have adapted to incorporate Scream and cards like Aero and Heimdall. Redwing can be integrated, although playing Surtur on turn 3 remains the priority. A sample deck includes:

Hydra Bob, Scream, Kraven, Captain America, Redwing, Polaris, Surtur, Ares, Cull Obsidian, Aero, Heimdall, Magneto. (Note: This deck is expensive, featuring several Series 5 cards.)

The strategy focuses on turn 3 Surtur deployment, followed by high-power cards to boost Surtur's power. Scream provides an alternative win condition by power stealing. Polaris, Aero, and Magneto offer card manipulation, while Redwing can be moved to Heimdall, enhancing Surtur and drawing a powerful card.

Another potential Redwing deck incorporates Madame Web, particularly relevant given the Dagger nerf's impact on move-based strategies. This deck focuses on the Ongoing archetype:

Ant-Man, Madame Web, Psylocke, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Luke Cage, Captain America, Redwing, Doom 2099, Iron Lad, Blue Marvel, Doctor Doom, Spectrum. (This deck also contains Series 5 cards.)

This is primarily a Doom 2099 Ongoing deck, aiming for rapid power distribution across locations. Madame Web assists in manipulating Doom 2099 bots and moving Sam Wilson's shield, while Redwing provides an additional means of card draw.

Is Redwing Worth the Investment?

Currently, Redwing's value is questionable. Its power level is relatively low, and its archetype is not currently dominant. Saving resources for future, potentially stronger cards is recommended unless significant buffs are implemented.
