What Does the Ending Mean?
Despite initial safety at Safe Haven, the illusion quickly shatters. Even after defeating Yarnaby and the Doctor, trouble persists. The Prototype, aware of Poppy's explosive plan, intercepts the explosives, leading to Safe Haven's destruction and Doey's enraged attack. Subsequently, we encounter the hiding Poppy and Kissy Missy.
A major twist reveals Ollie, our seemingly trustworthy ally, is actually The Prototype. His voice-changing abilities enable deception, manipulating Poppy into believing he's Ollie.
A VHS tape discovered during the Doey chase sequence shows Poppy's despair after a moment of happiness. The Prototype had promised escape, a promise broken. The final confrontation will likely involve rescuing these children and destroying the factory, a task complicated by the lab's security measures and a vengeful Huggy Wuggy (possibly the same one from Chapter 1, given his injuries and bandages).
