This system applies to all future limited banners, as confirmed by Chinese players. However, the pity counter does not transfer between limited and standard banners.
While the hard pity is 80 pulls, soft pity begins around 58 pulls. Your chances of obtaining an SSR unit steadily improve after 58 pulls, culminating in a guaranteed SSR at 80 pulls.
