Metaphor: ReFantazio's Expanding Party: A Guide to Recruitment Timing
Beyond the main character, seven companions will join your adventure in Metaphor: ReFantazio, each contributing their unique combat skills. While Gallica is present from the start, her combat role is initially limited.
Each recruit joins on specific in-game dates, tied to story events. Note: Reading ahead might reveal some plot surprises regarding party member introductions.

Party Member Recruitment Schedule:
Each party member unlocks a unique Archetype; once unlocked, any party member can utilize it. Initially, some companions join but aren't immediately controllable. However, later recruits awaken to their Archetype just before their first combat appearance.

Strohl (Warrior): Joins on June 5th (6/5) at the Border Fort, but his Archetype activates the following day, June 6th (6/6), in the Nord Mines. Until then, he's AI-controlled.

Grius: Joins after the Border Fort events, but becomes combat-ready on June 6th (6/6). After Strohl's Archetype unlocks, you can equip it to Grius, making him a full party member, though his awakening differs from others.

Hulkenberg (Knight): Interacts with the party from June 10th (6/10), but fully joins after her Archetype unlocks during the boss fight on June 11th (6/11).

Heismay (Thief): Featured in Martira's free time segment (mostly linear). He awakens and joins the party on July 4th (7/4) within the town's main dungeon.

Junah (Masked Dancer): Appears throughout the game, but joins after her Archetype unlocks on August 13th (8/13).

Eupha (Summoner): Her recruitment is more flexible. During Viraga Island's free time (August 19th - September 4th, 8/19-9/4), complete the Dragon Temple Dungeon to recruit her for the final boss. Note: Her Bond quest begins after the free time period ends.

Basilio (Berserker): Awakens and joins on September 11th (9/11) during Saint's Day events. However, he's not usable in combat until the next day (optional).
