Nintendo's Alarmo Alarm Clock: Wider Release and Features
Nintendo's interactive alarm clock, Alarmo, is expanding its retail availability in March 2025. Initially requiring a Nintendo Online membership, this restriction will be lifted for the wider release.
Beyond the Nintendo Switch 2 Buzz:
The announcement of Alarmo's wider release comes amidst much speculation about the Nintendo Switch 2. While Nintendo remains silent on the next-generation console, the alarm clock is generating significant excitement.
Alarmo will be available at major retailers globally, including Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other authorized retailers. The device will retail for $99.99 USD.
Initial Release Frenzy:
Following its October 9, 2024, announcement, Alarmo quickly sold out. In Japan, sales were temporarily suspended on the My Nintendo Store and transitioned to a lottery system for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Similar high demand led to a sell-out in a New York City store.
Alarmo's Engaging Features:
Alarmo boasts a unique design. It features 42 selectable scenes from popular Nintendo games like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3, with more to be added via free updates.
The alarm experience is interactive. A game character appears on the screen, gently waking you with sounds. If you linger, a more insistent visitor and louder sounds encourage you to rise. A motion sensor allows you to silence the alarm without touching the device. Additional features include hourly chimes, sleep sounds, and sleep pattern tracking. For those sharing a bed with others or pets, a "Button Mode" is recommended.
With its expanded release, Alarmo promises a fun and interactive way to start the day for all Nintendo fans.
