Mortal Kombat Mobile brings in iconic Image anti-hero Spawn

Mortal Kombat Mobile welcomes back the iconic guest character, Spawn!

This McFarlane-created anti-hero returns, modeled after his Mortal Kombat 11 appearance. He'll soon be joined by MK1 Kenshi, and brings with him three new Friendship finishers and a Brutality.

Mortal Kombat Mobile, the mobile iteration of the popular fighting game franchise, is getting its first guest character. Todd McFarlane's Spawn joins the roster, alongside a classic version of Kenshi (from MK1).

Spawn, also known as Al Simmons, is a murdered soldier who struck a deal with the Devil to return to Earth. Now a vigilante with powerful supernatural abilities, he's potentially a harbinger of the Apocalypse.

Spawn, initially published in the 1990s (though his creation predates that), is a creation of Todd McFarlane and was a flagship character for Image Comics. His appearance in Mortal Kombat 11 made him a highly sought-after guest character for Mortal Kombat Mobile.

The addition of Spawn, alongside a new Kenshi, is sure to excite fans, even those who might typically shy away from mobile versions of their favorite fighting games.

Spawn, based on his Mortal Kombat 11 design, is currently available in Mortal Kombat Mobile. The update also includes three new Friendship finishers, one Brutality, and new Hellspawn dungeons to conquer. Download it now on the iOS App Store and Google Play!

A Note of Sadness: Just before publication, news broke that the entire Netherrealm Studios mobile team was reportedly laid off. Sadly, Spawn's addition might be the final achievement of this talented team.
