Monster Hunter: Wilds' Second Open Beta Announced for February 2025
Capcom has announced the dates for a second open beta test for its highly anticipated title, Monster Hunter: Wilds, scheduled for two weekends in February 2025. Building on the success of the first beta (late 2024), this extended test offers players another opportunity to experience the expansive open world before the game's official launch on February 28, 2025.
Monster Hunter: Wilds promises to be a landmark entry in the franchise, boasting a vast, diverse open world teeming with challenging monsters. The initial beta provided a taste of the narrative, character creation, and core gameplay loop, featuring hunts in the tutorial area.
The second open beta will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam, running across these two weekends:
- Weekend 1: February 6th, 2025, 7:00 PM PT – February 9th, 2025, 6:59 PM PT
- Weekend 2: February 13th, 2025, 7:00 PM PT – February 16th, 2025, 6:59 PM PT
Beta Content and Improvements:
This second beta will include all content from the first, allowing players to revisit character creation, the story trial, and the Doshaguma hunt. A new challenge awaits with the addition of a Gypceros hunt, a fan-favorite monster returning to the series. Furthermore, players can carry over their characters created during the first beta, eliminating the need for recreation.
Capcom acknowledges feedback from the first beta, addressing concerns regarding visuals and weapon mechanics. The developer assures players that significant improvements are underway, incorporating player feedback to polish the game before its release.
This second beta serves as a crucial step for both Capcom and the community. It offers a valuable opportunity for further refinement and to re-ignite anticipation for what promises to be a truly ambitious Monster Hunter experience. Whether a returning veteran or a newcomer, February 2025 is set to be a thrilling month for monster hunters.
