Marvel Rivals Season 1 Mid-Season Update: No Rank Reset!
Initial plans for a Marvel Rivals Season 1 mid-season rank reset on February 21, 2025, were met with significant player backlash. This prompted NetEase Games to reverse course.
The developer responded to player concerns about the frequency of rank resets impacting the competitive experience. Consequently, ranks and scores will be carried over from the first half of Season 1 into the second half. Players will retain their earned rank. To unlock new rewards (including a Gold rank costume and Crests of Honor), players simply need to complete 10 competitive matches and meet specific conditions by the season's end. This decision showcases NetEase's responsiveness to community feedback.
Season 1 Mid-Season Update Content:
Beyond the absence of a rank reset, the mid-season update introduces two new playable heroes: The Thing and Human Torch. Specific character balance adjustments (buffs and nerfs) remain unannounced.
