A New Direction for IO InteractiveProject Fantasy will be a Vibrant New Enterprise
IO Interactive is taking their studio into a bold new direction with Project Fantasy, moving beyond the intricacy and stealthy gameplay that defined the world of Hitman. In an interview with Veronique Lallier, the IO Interactive's Chief Development Officer said that Project Fantasy is "a vibrant game and doesn't really delve into darker fantasy", and added that, "It's definitely a passion project for us and for our studio."As anticipation builds up, Lallier admitted that they are not yet in a position to share too much information on Project Fantasy but exclaimed that, "It’s a very exciting project, very close to my heart." As they bring more talent to the table and proactively hire developers, artists, and animators solely for this venture, it may be fair to say that IO Interactive will be focused on driving the Online RPG genre forward.
There is speculation that the game will be a live service RPG, but the studio has been very tight-lipped about the specifics. Interestingly, Project Fantasy’s Official submitted IP, known under the codename, Project Dragon, is currently listed as an RPG Shooter.

The future remains very bright, and coupled with IO Interactive’s proven experience in bringing a genre to success, IO Interactive is more than just stepping into the Online RPG scene, they are poised and well equipped to redefine the genre. Through innovative storytelling, interactive environments and engagement with the community, Project Fantasy aims to deliver a unique and engaging experience for the players.
