Genshin Impact Leak Suggests Wriothesley Rerun in Version 5.4
A recent leak hints at a long-awaited rerun for the Cryo Catalyst character, Wriothesley, in Genshin Impact Version 5.4. This would mark his return over a year after his initial appearance in Version 4.1. The game's extensive roster of over 90 playable characters presents a significant scheduling challenge, making fair rerun opportunities difficult to manage. With limited banner slots and a steady stream of new characters, ensuring each limited 5-star character gets a yearly rerun is proving nearly impossible.
While the introduction of the Chronicled Banner aimed to alleviate this issue, many players consider it a temporary solution. The lengthy wait for Shenhe's rerun (over 600 days) exemplifies this ongoing problem. Until the developers implement triple banners, extended wait times between character reruns are likely to persist.
Wriothesley, a powerful Cryo character whose Burnmelt team compositions deliver substantial damage, has been absent from Event Banners since November 8, 2023. The leak from Flying Flame suggests his return in Version 5.4. However, it's crucial to note that Flying Flame's track record isn't flawless, with previous leaks proving inaccurate. Therefore, this information should be treated cautiously. The recent Spiral Abyss buffs, however, do favor Wriothesley's playstyle, lending some credence to the rumor.
Version 5.4 is also anticipated to introduce Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If both Mizuki and Wriothesley are featured on Event Banners, the remaining slots would likely feature either Furina or Venti, as they are the only Archons yet to receive a rerun, following the established Archon rerun sequence. Version 5.4's release is currently slated for February 12, 2025.
