Unlocking Astro Bot's Lost Galaxy: A Comprehensive Guide to Finding All 10 Hidden Portals
Astro Bot Rescue Mission offers players a vast array of explorable worlds. However, a hidden tenth world, the Lost Galaxy, remains elusive, accessible only through ten cleverly concealed portals scattered throughout the game's levels. This guide details the location and method for discovering each portal.
Note that a swirling icon next to a level's selection screen indicates the presence of a hidden portal within that stage.
Hidden Portal #1: Az-Tech Trail
Mid-level, locate a dark chamber with a wall flanked by four lit torches. Utilize the Twin-Frog Gloves to extinguish all four flames; this will reveal the portal.
Hidden Portal #2: Creamy Canyon
Early in the level, you'll encounter a snowy area with a ladybug enemy. Proceed past it to a charging pig. Grab the pig, swing it towards the icy statue, and release it to shatter the statue. Backtrack, leap over the ladybug, and perform a charged spin attack to access the portal.
Hidden Portal #3: Go-Go Archipelago
After defeating Captain Pincher, locate his embedded claw. A glowing spot nearby indicates the location for a charged spin attack. Drill down to uncover a hidden chamber containing the portal.
Hidden Portal #4: Downsize Surprise
Towards the level's end, find a bubble-blowing frog. Blow into your controller to initiate bubble production. Shrink your size, ride a bubble, and transfer to another bubble to reach a branch above a bot. From there, navigate to the opposite branch to find the portal.
Hidden Portal #5: Free Big Brother!
This is arguably the easiest portal to locate. At the level's start, turn around to find platforms with an electric enemy. Lure it to electrocute the platforms, revealing the hidden portal.
Hidden Portal #6: Bathhouse Battle
Find the house with a flaming chimney. After absorbing water, ascend to the roof and extinguish the flames. Descend the chimney to discover the portal.
Hidden Portal #7: Hieiroglitch Pyramid
At the level's conclusion, turn right to find an area with falling jewels. A bounce pad leads to a hidden area containing the portal. Activate a trap and locate two hidden switches to clear the path.
Hidden Portal #8: Balloon Breeze
This is the most challenging portal. Acquire the pufferfish power-up and backtrack to an early area with a ladybug enemy and a distant platform. Use the ladybug to reach the platform, activate the pufferfish, and use Astro's hover to reach the bamboo. Cut the bamboo and activate the portal by circling it.
Hidden Portal #9: Djinny of the Lamp
After defeating Djinny, climb the ruins. Invisible platforms are indicated by glowing ground. Hover to each platform, unfurl a rug, and ride it to the final platform containing the portal.
Hidden Portal #10: Frozen Meal
Before the boss fight, roll a snowball into a large ball and use it as a platform to reach a cliffside area containing the final portal.
