Square Enix has confirmed that the acclaimed Final Fantasy XVI will launch on PC on September 17 of this year. The announcement suggests a positive trajectory for the franchise’s PC presence, as the director implies future titles may release concurrently across platforms.

Final Fantasy XVI’s PC version will retail at $49.99, with a Complete Edition priced at $69.99. The latter includes the game’s two story expansions, Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide. A playable demo, offering a preview of the game’s prologue and a combat-focused "Eikonic Challenge" mode, is now accessible. Demo progress carries over to the full game.

Furthermore, FFXVI Director Hiroshi Takai stated in a Rock Paper Shotgun interview that, for the PC release, "we’ve increased the frame rate cap to 240fps, and you can select from various upscaling technologies such as NVIDIA DLSS3, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS."
