Escape Academy is the Epic Games Store's free game offering for January 16th, 2025. This escape-room style puzzle game is the fourth free title offered by the EGS in 2025 and, based on its OpenCritic score, is currently the highest-rated free game offered this year.
Epic Games Store users have a week to claim Escape Academy, starting Thursday, January 16th, replacing Turmoil. The game will be available until January 23rd.
Developed by Coin Crew Games, Escape Academy challenges players to hone their escape room skills as students at the titular academy. Originally released in July 2022 for PC and consoles, this marks its second appearance as a free EGS offering (previously given away on January 1st, 2024, but for a shorter period). This giveaway is especially timely for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as Escape Academy is leaving the service on January 15th.

This marks the fourth free game of 2025 for the Epic Games Store. The announcement of the fifth free game is anticipated on January 16th. Players who enjoy the main game can also purchase two DLC packs: "Escape From Anti-Escape Island" and "Escape From the Past," available individually for $9.99 or bundled in a Season Pass for $14.99.
