Bethesda and id Software have unveiled a new demonstration of DOOM: The Dark Ages during the Xbox showcase, confirming the long-anticipated release date of May 15. This latest installment transports players back to Medieval times, promising a gameplay experience that diverges significantly from its predecessor, DOOM: Eternal.
In DOOM: The Dark Ages, players will embody a "killing machine" and a formidable tank, focusing less on the acrobatic, parkour-style movements of DOOM: Eternal. Instead, the game emphasizes staying grounded and unleashing destruction with a robust arsenal designed to obliterate demons. Key weapons in this medieval-themed shooter include a shield and a mace, adding a visceral touch to the combat.
A standout feature is the introduction of a giant mech, allowing players to dominate smaller demons with sheer force. Additionally, the campaign will offer the thrilling experience of riding a dragon, enhancing the epic feel of the game.
DOOM: The Dark Ages also introduces a flexible difficulty customization system. Players can tailor their experience by adjusting enemy damage, challenge levels, and other parameters to suit their preferred level of intensity.
