Company of Heroes debuts multiplayer skirmish mode for iOS port

by Aria Mar 15,2025

Company of Heroes, the acclaimed World War II real-time strategy (RTS) game from Relic Entertainment and ported to mobile by Feral Interactive, is finally getting multiplayer! A recent iOS beta introduces the highly anticipated skirmish mode. Prepare for intense battles as you command factions inspired by the real-life militaries of World War II.

While Relic Entertainment is known for the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War series, many hold a special place in their hearts for the Company of Heroes franchise. The original mobile version, released some time ago, lacked a crucial element: multiplayer. That changes now.

The iOS page for Company of Heroes proudly announces the arrival of Online Skirmish Mode as a beta feature. Players can now face off against each other, choosing from factions like the Americans and Germans, or expanding their options with the UK and Panzer Elite factions from the Opposing Fronts expansion.

Company of Heroes cleverly balances realistic warfare with accessible RTS gameplay. It's not simply about fielding the most expensive units; strategic mistakes can quickly lead to devastating losses. A poorly positioned infantry squad or a vulnerable tank can easily be decimated.

While I personally preferred the AI challenge in Company of Heroes, appreciating the strategic depth of experienced human players, this addition is undoubtedly exciting news for those who’ve been waiting for online multiplayer.
