How To Break & Repair a Broken Object in The Sims 4 Blast From the Past Event

by George Feb 28,2025

The Sims 4's Blast from the Past event offers numerous rewards, but acquiring them isn't straightforward. One particularly tricky challenge involves breaking and repairing an object. This guide outlines how to accomplish this.

Week 2's challenge requires raising your Sim's Handiness skill to level 2 or higher, a relatively simple task. The difficulty arises in the subsequent step: repairing a broken object. The game doesn't highlight broken items, so the easiest solution is to intentionally break something.

Instead of using the "prank" interaction (which requires a specific Sim trait), repeatedly using an object will eventually break it. The Ambassador toilet is an inexpensive option; using it approximately a dozen times will cause it to malfunction. This can be done by your Sim or by having guests use it.

Once broken, repairing the object is simple. With your Sim's Handiness at level 2 or higher, select the "Repair" option on the broken item. This will take a few seconds, resolving the malfunction and completing the challenge.
