The Battle of Polytopia has injected a thrilling new competitive element: Weekly Challenges! This exciting addition to the 4X strategy game provides a fresh and structured way to test your skills.
From Randomness to Rigorous Competition
Polytopia’s charm lies in its inherent randomness—the unpredictable mix of enemies, resources, and maps. However, this free update introduces a more structured competitive experience. Each week, every player receives the same map, tribe, and identical starting conditions, creating a level playing field. The challenge? Achieve the highest score within 20 turns, with a maximum of one attempt per day (seven attempts per week).
This new feature offers a unique opportunity to play tribes you may not own. The game boasts 16 tribes—four included in the base game and twelve available for purchase. But in Weekly Challenges, everyone competes with the same tribe, regardless of ownership.

Will Weekly Challenges Elevate The Battle of Polytopia?
The addition of a League system further enhances the competitive aspect. Starting in the Entry League, players ascend (or descend) based on weekly performance. The top third advances, the bottom third drops, and the middle remains unchanged. Difficulty scales with league progression, starting with Easy AI in the Entry League and escalating to Crazy difficulty AI in the Gold League. Missing a week won't result in demotion, but your ranking will adjust based on other players' performance.
