Unlike typical puzzle games, The Art of Fauna uses 18th and 19th-century illustrations as puzzles, requiring players to either recreate the images or complete their descriptions through sentence construction.
Featuring 100 puzzles, the game boasts accessibility features including support for visually impaired players and dyslexia-friendly fonts. Furthermore, a significant contribution is made to environmental protection: 20% of all revenue is donated to wildlife conservation organizations. The game is priced at $7.99, or players can purchase individual "eco-zone" packs containing 20 puzzles for $2.99 each. It has even received the App Store's "Game of the Day" award.
