Big news for fans of the Now You See Me franchise: not only has Now You See Me 3 been officially titled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, but Now You See Me 4 is also in development. This exciting announcement was made on-stage at CinemaCon by Adam Fogelson, chair of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, who also confirmed that the previously announced release date for Now You See Me 3, set for November 14, 2025, remains unchanged.
Director Ruben Fleischer, who has signed a deal with Lionsgate to develop and direct both the third and fourth installments, is steering the action-heist series that has already grossed $700 million worldwide. The first two films featured stars such as Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman, with new talents Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt joining as the next generation of illusionists in Now You See Me: Now You Don’t. Rosamund Pike also stars in the third installment.
Fleischer, who directed Zombieland, reunites with Eisenberg and Harrelson in Now You See Me: Now You Don’t. His recent successes include Uncharted, which earned over $400 million globally, and Venom, which amassed over $850 million worldwide.
The original producer, Bobby Cohen, will return to produce the third film alongside Alex Kurtzman of Secret Hideout, with Meredith Wieck overseeing the project for Lionsgate.
Adam Fogelson praised Fleischer's work, stating, "Ruben has delivered all of the twists and turns and sleight-of-hand that audiences expect from this franchise while upping the stakes and scale in every way. We can’t wait for audiences to discover what he’s done with the third film and are thrilled he’ll be making even more magic with us."
Fleischer himself expressed enthusiasm, saying, "Directing Now You See Me: Now You Don’t was as much fun as making any movie in my career. It combines two of my favorite things — heist movies and magic — and working with this incredible cast was truly magical. Of course, I want to keep it going."
IGN's review of the first Now You See Me film gave it a 6.3/10, noting, "Now You See Me seemed so promising, but it squanders its cool cast and nifty premise on smarmy, shallow characters and a flimsy, nonsensical plot." The sequel, Now You See Me 2, received a 6.2/10, with IGN stating, "Now You See Me 2 isn't the worst magic act in town, but it's all flash and no substance."
