Hez2: A Popular Moroccan Card Game
Hez2 is a classic Moroccan card game perfect for family fun. This turn-based game supports up to four players (one, two, or three players are also possible). The goal is to be the first to get rid of all your cards.
Gameplay: On a player's turn, they must play a card that matches either the suit or rank of the card previously played. If a player has no matching card, they must draw a card from the deck. Even if a player does have a valid card, they can choose to draw instead.
Special Cards:
- 2: If a player plays a two, the next player must draw two cards. If that player also has a two, they can choose to play it (forcing the next player to draw four), or draw the two cards. This continues until a player without a two draws the accumulated cards.
- 7: Playing a seven allows the player to change the required suit/color for the next card played.
- 10: The player must play another card immediately. If the ten is their last card, they must draw a card.
- 12: (3 or 4 player games only) Playing a twelve skips the next player's turn.
The game ends when a player plays their last card (with some special rules applying if the last card is a Two or Ten), and that player wins.
The Deck: Hez2 uses a 40-card deck with four suits:
- 10 Copas (Tbaye9)
- 10 Espadas (Syouf)
- 10 Oros (D'hab)
- 10 Bastos (Zrawéte)
Each suit contains cards numbered 1-7, 10-12.
